help with choosing a monitor

Hi all think it time to upgrade my monitor at the moment im using a Dell 1905fp and would like to upgrade to a widescreen monitor the only problem I have is the more I read the more I get confused so any help would be greatly appreciated. The new monitor is going to be used for games and movies ( no consoles) I have a budget of around £400 and size minimum of 24" maximum of 27" and not sure which is better a 1900x1080 or 1900x1200 so if any one could help me out that would be great.
 
After some more reading I have come down to 2 monitors the first being the Iiyama ProLite E2710HDSD 27" as it will do everything i need and the 2nd is the LG W2600H-PF 25.5. as it is 1920x1200

I have read the posts on the forum about the Iiyama but was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the LG as I have had problems trying to locate any reviews

scrap all the above posts just bought a dell U2410 from a well known auction site with a 4 year warranty and a bit cheaper than here sorry OCuk
