Hi.
I really am stuck choosing a monitor, and I could really use a hand.
I'm trying to find one with a nice display with minimum washed colours and decent viewing angles, but i think those have a slightly lower refresh rate.

But im not that fussed about refresh rates because any gaming i do, is usually with strategy games so i think id rather have a nicer screen.

Something around 27"

I have roughly £150 - £250 to spend.

Not sure if that can get me a half decent monitor.
There are so many id just really like some help so i don't end up wasting money on one that is not worth it.

Thank you

Sounds like what you need is an IPS panel monitor mate. They have the best colours and viewing angles. For under £250 you are going to struggle to find a 27" so 24" would be the way to go.

Any of these 3 will be ideal for you

Yeah was just having a look.
Looks pretty nice.
Would it be worth spending a bit more for more 'stuff'

Honestly, i don't know what makes a monitor "good".

You want a monitor with good colours and good viewing angles then you need a monitor with either an IPS panel or one like the BenQ which uses a VA type panel.

Lots of the cheaper monitors use TN panels these tend to have poor viewing angles and colours don't have the same pop.

Just to make things harder there is also the Dell Studio S2740L

Its not easy picking a monitor it takes a lot of reading and research i feel you pain :p

I'd also recommend the BenQ GW2760HS.

And if the £250 isn't a strict limit, then you might want to take a look at the Asus SonicMaster MX279H for £276.

Although, lately Asus has been getting some flak for how it has handled the product support with another monitor, PB278Q, which is even higher end than the MX279H.

Was really close to ordering the Dell Studio S2740L, people reviewing said the picture is fantastic and all that, but i'm slightly put off that the screen is apparently like a mirror.

I don't really want to spend a huge amount of money, unless I can see where the money has been used.
And knowing so little about monitors, I don't know if i will.
