Help with Christmas Present.....

I've recently given my mum a new widescreen centrino laptop as I no longer used it as I had just build myself a new Desktop PC.
With Christmas coming around the corner I'd quite like to get her a digital camera to go with it, as her current old APS camera is on it's last legs. My problem is I know a little about digital cameras but not enough to buy wisely! Could someone recommend me a digital camera which meets the following requirements?

Good Picture Quality
Compact
Easy to Use - I.E: Parent-proof! :p
Big Screen
Budget: £150 max

If you can't recommend me a camera can someone give me a crash course on what to look for when buying one – Manufactures to avoid, models to avoid etc…

Any help with this would be great!

Cheers,

Valo

Hey. I'm not really up on my compacts but i expect for the benefit of everyone else who would post here to help you -- a budget to work from would be very useful? :)

D'OH!..Thanks for that :)

The Fuji F10 is best compact camera i've ever used, bought it for the Mrs as a point and shoot and have no regrets. The best thing about it apart from the usual ticks in the boxes as per your post is that it has a higher iso range from most compacts meaning it will produce fewer blurred pictures.

I believe there are newer models than the F10 but I cant comment on them

You can get them in black, silver and blue. I've just bought a silver one for a friend's Xmas present and am so impressed I'm considering getting one for myself.
