Hi,

I just got this case after using my Lian Li PC70 for 10+ years - I thought it'd be nice to have some modern USB ports, etc.

So first things first, I boot it up with a minimal setup and immediately the fans are making weird noises when the fan controller is set to medium or low - there's like an odd rattling/buzzing noise. It's not there with the fans at full speed.

I tried disconnecting each fan individually and it's coming from both of the 200mm fans. I then removed one of the fans and it does it even outside the case.. no odd noises when on full speed but weird buzzing at medium and low speed. So that seems to need replacing already - anyone else had similar issues?

Next I remove the front panel and it seems that two of the plastic holders (not the clips, but the guides which go into a hole on the case) were already snapped off - they just dropped out as soon as I took the panel off.

Finally, the HDD trays. It seems I have to mount my hdds in the trays backwards (i.e. connectors are facing the right side panel of the case) - seems like a good idea.. the cable management stays clean. However, clearance isn't enough - my sata cables and power connectors are going to be completely squashed by the side panel if I close it and I'm likely to end up snapping a connector on a hard drive. Have I misunderstood something here?

Has anyone got any tips on how to sort this out?

I love the look of the case and the cable management is really nice, but so far it feels like a complete dud. I'm tempted just to send it back but I'm not even sure if I can cos of the snapped plastic, which I can't prove was snapped before I opened it.

Is the case second hand? It sounds like the issue the case had when it initially released that was fixed fairly quickly with a new revision.

As for the sata cables, I never came across this problem but you could use right angle sata cables or if you have 3 or less drives, move them to the secondary position in front on the cut out in the mobo tray.

And with this case you really need to replace the front fan with a better one and cut the 200mm grill out in the front to reduce the annoying noise.

The case is brand new from OCUK. The model number has a -1 on the end which I think is the newer revision?

The fan itself seems to be the problem, the noise happens outside of the case.

I've got 4 3.5" drives plus an SSD. The PSU is a SuperFlower Golden Green (the SATA power connectors are a little longer than on my old PSU) so the angled connectors arn't really possible - it's the power cables which are giving me the problem. I've had a good go at closing the side panel but unless I really really force it shut it's not going to close with my hdds connected up - it's fine without.

I've tried reversing the direction of the hdds but it isn't going to fit. Here's a pic: http://imgur.com/pA731B2

I've also tried stretching the connectors out so the loop is wider, but it doesn't really help.

Thought I'd found a solution to the hard drive problem - could flip the whole cage around the opposite way as there's more clearance to the left side panel. Sadly corsair managed to design it so you can't screw it in the other way :(
