Hi,

I'm in the process of building a rig for my brother and hve run into an issue with installing a Matterhorn black edition CPU cooler.

I haven't installed a cooler like this before and can't find any info on how to do it.

I'm using a X99-sli motherboard

There are no holes for the backplate to go through ( there are holes but they are filled) and although it says its socket 2011 compatible in the shop I cant find th instructions for it.

Any help would be much appreciated.

What motherboard do you have? I've installed a regular Matterhorn with no issues whatsoever. With X99 you shouldn't need a backplate

On the intructions there are none for 2011 only 1366/1155/1150/775

You won't need a backplate. You should have enough brackets/screws to fit the cooler directly onto the socket

The process is the same as for 2011 socket
