Use these Beta drivers on Windows 7 64bit (I find them more stable and windows does not keep losing audio for un-known reasons or the creative console behaving strange as you are finding)

Double-click the downloaded file.

Make sure to uninstall all your creative cards drivers and any software that came with it and then install these and restart the system and you will see it ask you if you want to update the rest of the cards componets and install the rest of the applications.
If it does not show that look for the "Creative Software AutoUpdate" in the creative start menu folder and run that and install all the stuff you use.
Also the card will behave a lot better now you will find and more like how it behaved on XP. It took me a while to get the card working as it should too untill creative pointed me to this driver that is hidden away on their driver pages for the cards. Works great now and not had a single problem with it, they also told me they are working on a new driver for these cards that may come begining of next year hopefully.
Also which slot on your PC do you have the card installed into ? If you can take a pic will be good and add the motherboard and setup you have, that way I may spot a known issue with your setup and can tell you how to sort it out.
