hi guys
everytime i go into the options menu and click 'ok', my corosshair size is changing, how can i make sure all the settings are saved in the config file? do i need to load it afterwards? i am kinda new so any help would be appreciated, as well if there are any commands that are useful please let me know. (how can i make the boddys dissapear for example?).

cheers

I get exactly the same thing mate, I know I could make it read only but then if I change a setting it won't get saved etc :(

Dead bodies are handy to keep on though, helps tell where campers/enemies could be etc etc etc etc :p

Dont know if this applys to CSS but in Day of Defeat, to change the crosshair you go into the console and type.

cl_xhair 3

JT

cl_crosshair 1200 is default as far as I know. Change it to any where between 1800 and 2400 and add it to your autoexec.cfg file.

1200 is default small setting.

For css settings you better off writing/editing your config then write protecting it or backing up a copy some where else. Makes life easyer

the default cl_crosshairscale setting depends on what resolution the game is running at. some will be 800, 1200 etc .... put cl_crosshairscale 8000 in console for a very small crosshair, make sure its a colour you can see and practice practice practice, headshots will come out of nowhere!! ;)

make a file called autoexec.cfg and put it in your cfg folder

mine looks like this

cl_downloadfilter "nosounds" (gets rid of annoying quake sounds if you dont like them)
cl_crosshairscale 1601 (size of crosshair - mine is pretty small)
hud_saytext_time 4 (how long each line appears in the chatbox)
hud_deathnotice_time 4 (how long info about someone being killed appears in the top right)
voice_enable 1 (lets me hear ppl's mics. sometimes i don't want to)
cl_radaralpha 1 (minimises the gaydar so it doesnt peepee me off)
net_graph 0 (hides fps info etc)
rate 25000
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
