Hi all

i have just bought a pc off ebay dirt cheap and been wanting a gameing pc for ages the one i bought isnt really up to scratch for that can anyone give me any information as to what i need for this, ive never done this before

this is all the information i know atm

This Pc has a Cool Master Case , a Gigbytes S-series Ultra Durable 2 motherboard an Intel Quad Core Q6600 2.40Ghz processor, 1.2TB of hard drive space , 8GB of ram and an Ati Radeon XI950

any information would be great, im also on a low budget atm

Thanks in advance Ryan

depending on how much you spent on it, and how much you have left, you could be looking at simply putting a newer GPU and CPU cooler, and overclocking that PC, or selling it and going 1155 socket for a good second hand price / performance ratio (i.e. I got a Sandy Pentium Dual core 3.1GHz, 4GB DDR3 with HDD and case etc for £60 and dropped a good GPU in it). Or maybe a Pentium Anniversary Edition bundle.

But yeah, what is your budget?

Thanks for your fast reply! I have only spent £100 so far I would happily spend that again, it's only a starter atm what would you recommend? is there limitations on what I can install?

Thanks in advance
Ryan

No because that's an AMD chip and you've got Intel :)

Also, no competitor links so you might want to remove that.

As said above, id get a new gpu and cooler them over clock. I'm not sure the performance on them chips so I don't know what gpu to recommend but if you are happy to go second hand then you'll be able to get something decent.

Also, an SSD will make even the oldest computers seem much faster :)

I'm guessing you are wanting to game at 1080p on a TV or something?

Would be helpful to know what psu you've got as that will depend on the gpu you can get.
