Hi,

Im currently designing a database as part of my work, can someone just confirm for me that for an Abbot - Yourdon table the process is to write a few paragraphs on how we wish the database to operate (Abbot)

Then from this extract key words for the names of the individual tables and field headings etc?

I have tried google but i cant seem to find the answer to my question,

Any help is appreciated!

Doesn't the Abbott -Yourden process use an OO aproach to database design, so you can do noun analysis on the problem statement to get your classes and then pull the verbs out for the properties / attributes of the classes?

If you are being forced to follow a process for your job then that process shuld be documented somewhere or your QA dept need taking out and shooting?
