I've noticed these scratches on my car recently. They are new, unsure how they got there. They are definitely deliberate but are not deep (can't feel them) they are concentrated to the bottom half of my boot and done quite haphazardly. I think some children found a sharp rock and decided to have shot at some artwork. If it was malicious I'd have expected them to be a lot deeper and not isolated to that little section.

Anyway, how do I tackle the scratches:

You can see them properly near the bottom right of the second picture. However there are quite a few more near the number plate too but I've been unable to pick them up with the camera.

I'm hoping they will polish out - if so, which polish? T-Cut?

Thanks

NO T-Cut
Get some meguires scratch remover then auto gylm polish as this has fillers in it to hide the scratches.
you will be lucky to get rid of them but you can reduce them a lot

Unless you have access to a machine polisher you're unlikely to be able to physically remove them. Your best shot by hand is to use a filler rich glaze like Auto Finesse Triple... This has next to no cut but will give the appearance of minimising the scratches. A very good product... Autoglym super resin polish is another good one, slightly more cut but not so capable of filling them.

Where are you? Maybe someone is nearby... Wouldn't take very long at all to get nice results with a rotary :)

Thanks for the replies. I have some Super Resin Polish which I'll try first. If not, I'll contact body shops to see how much they'd charge for machine polishing that section.

Looks more like something brushing against it to me, seen similar on a friends car when he kept parking with his backend really close to some greenery at work.

3M Scratch Remover

I had scratches worse than that, did a great job of removing them.

Do you think you could have got some grit trapped in the sponge when you washed it? Looks like that kind of thing.
