Right i have attacking pretty much spot on. However god damn does my defending suck! (This is for the 360 version by the way)

I lost last night online in Pro Evo 6 4-1 because i just couldn't couldn't.

Now i know there are two buttons for pressure, X and A while B is a full on sliding tackle.

My main problem is that i find it very hard to aim my tackle whether it's an interception or sliding tackle and i end up missing the ball resulting in the opposition running away and scoring.

Does anyone have any tips for defending in this game please?

couple of tips;

1) Only go sliding in if you KNOW your going to get there first, Always keep your defence on their feet, ESPECIALLY if you only have one man back..

2) I try and read the run and try and merge my run into theres if you get what i mean, so i slot my player in front of his and then turn, leaving him no chance.

3) Holding down "A" will automatically involve other players around you to get involved and help you out, try and switch player before they get to close, because when they do reach the player with the ball they normally just rush in and give away pointless free kicks.

4) Use your radar, Major part of pro evo in my eyes, just means you can read the game and make sure he doesnt have any advantage againest, if you dont know how to read the radar and move players while the main screen isnt on your players then LEARN.

hope this helps.

X is for team pressure and A is for player pressure.

I NEVER use team pressure. It brings your defence out of position and makes your goal venerable to other players.

Don't always expect player pressure to gain you the ball. It's best used to cause the other player to miss as it lowers accuracy big time.

The only thing I can suggest is to work on position. As long as a player is between the striker and the goalie at all times, it lowers his options greatly.

Concentrate on using the AI to pressure the player with the ball while you use your guy to cut off the passing options.
Just don't let them barge in from behind.

Andy I will add you to my friends list and maybe we could hook up and have a game, I have been struggling to get around players and get into goal scoring positions.
I have scored some of the best 35-40 yard goals you have ever seen, I cannot finish when it comes to one on ones .... its so frustrating...

You mean X right?

Holding X makes the nearest non controlled player close the ball down. Leaving you free to use your controlled player as a covering man if the AI player doesn't make the tackle.

try playing 5-3-2 with a CWP behind your back 4 this seems to work well, what I would also do then is if they have 2 up front set your 2 centre backs to aggressivly man mark their 2 strikers. Its always a good idea as suggested to aggressivly man mark any star strikers especially like Adriano.

once you have a good formation then save it, to play with it on live again open a training session and load the formation it will then auto load on playing live.

Thanks inward, will try that later. Didnt know you could save settings for later use either on live. Will have a tinker. Fav team right now is arsenal so will muck about with those.

What about getting players to flood the box, how is that done? I often get into the area and have no one to pick out with a pass despite playing 3 upfront as say barca.

Another couple of tips and I will be ready to take on anderson and wedgie again ;)

my tip is similar to other comments here. Always look at what they're going to do.. normally cut in or make a pass across. If you're last man never challenge.. pressure the guy on the ball whilst you run back with ure last man. Basically let the computer harass him whilst u pick up the runner, man at edge of box etc. As someone said before, never use slide tackle unless you're 100% guarenteed to get the ball.

I mean X, correct.

I'm free all night tonight so add me and I'm sure we could have a few games. That goes for anyone else either.

My gamertag is: NickL360. Just put a msg that you are from OcUK so I know who you are :)

About the shot placement when you RT. Normally I'm running. So do I release RB, Pull in RT and then x power or do you have to x power then pull in RT?

Reason I ask is because my defending is good in the ranked games I play. I batter the crud out of the other teams goal but fail so many 1v1's its unreal. So they then get one goal or I draw.

Getting beyond a joke now, more possesion, more shots on target yet from 12 games today i've won 2 and one was a disconnect. Sometimes i'm losing to people having literally one shot all game.
