Hi all,
I was thinking about updating my drivers as they don't seem to be doing to great. I got a BSOD, saying something about how the PTEs weren't being managed by the drivers. Couldn't find much help via google so thought I'd come here. Would it be best to get the 10.11s? I'm on the 10.8s and they run okay but TF2 crashes pretty regularly, with the video freezing and sound looping. Sometimes it'll crash to desktop.

In terms of updating drivers, is it best to :
1. Download new ones
2.Uninstall old ones via control panel w/ the ATi tool
3. Boot into safe mode and use Driver Sweeper the clear them out
4. Reboot and install the new ones

or is it okay to not use Driver Sweeper, i.e. how good is the ATi tool?

Thank for any replies.

1. Download 10.10e - http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/gpu88-catalyst-10-10e-hotfix.aspx
2. Uninstall the current ones using ATI installer (Custom->All) under Safe Mode
3. Reboot and custom install the new ones (choose only the components you need)
4. Reboot and download Catalyst Application Profiles (make sure you haven't got any installed currently)
5. Install them, no need to reboot
6. ???
7. PROFIT

Ahh thanks. I'll do this after lunch. So just to clarify:
1. Get new 10.10e's
2. Uninstall 10.8's in safe mode w/ the official uninstaller
3. Reboot and install the new ones (Normal Windows? i.e. not safe mode)
4. Reboot again and install profiles.
5. ?????
6. PROFIT!
