Hey guys,

Looking for some help please, so i currently have two monitors connected to my GTX970 a
AOC 1080p 144hz monitor as my main display and a old Samsung 1080p 60hz monitor as my second display.
Both connected via DVI-D cables, both working great.

Im currently looking to upgrade to a RTX2070 however i noticed that the 2070 has no DVI-D ports on the card. My main display has a Display Port so thats good and my old monitor has a HDMI port.

So my question is can i connect them using different cables? Can i connect my AOC mointior to the RTX 2070 via a Display Port cable to run at 144z?
and can i connect my old Samsung monitor to to the RTX2070 at the same time via a HDMI cable to run at 60hz? and keep the same extended displays i have now?

Sorry if this seems a silly question but i have no way of testing it currently as i dont have the cables etc

Cheers all

Ok, So i ordered a DIsplay Port cable and a HDMI, connected them to my GTX970 and it works so im hoping this will be the same whan i get my new GPU.
However im getting strange ghosting when i scroll down web pages on my 144Hz monitor not in games just on web pages. If i Plug my DVI-D cable back in it goes away.

I found someone else having the same issue here.....

https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/144hz-freesync-ghosting-text-while-scrolling.2469861/

He had to reinstall Windows here to fix it so i guess i will do that when my New GPU gets delivered and hope i don't have the same issue.
If anyone has any suggestions on this that would be great, I have tried updating Drivers both GPU and Monitor but no luck.

Cheers all

As you know by now the answers to your questions were yes.

For your other problem give us your monitor model number.

Double check your monitor is set to 144Hz and the other thing I can suggest is play with the Overdrive setting on your monitor OSD. If set too high it can cause ghosting.

Hi esoteric,

Thanks for the reply the monitor is a "AOC G2770PF 27" 1920x1080 TN FREESYNC 144Hz 1ms Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor"

Monitor is definitely set to 144Hz, if i set it to 60hz the ghosting stops also if i plug back in the DVI-D cable it stops as well, Overdrive settings does not fix the issue.

Cheers

Could be a dodgy DP cable, try the HDMI in the AOC monitor.

I've Googled your monitor and have seen other people with AOC monitors, different models to yours having the same issue. Could just be an AOC thing but I've seen other brands having it. It sounds like overshoot which is an issue caused by having Overdrive set too high

Sounds like one of these issues where you have to be there in person to troubleshoot :/
