Help with ebay selling write up please

Another question...

...I am putting the car up for 3800pounds or so, where should i start or just let bidders do the rest?

did you not mention its been pranged and had the lock picked? you have to put these in the advert if its true.

Don't start at £3800, start as low as you can bear - if people see a first bid for a few grand they will be put off

Oops, totally forgot about that. Will add that to it and include picture. the damaged has been fixed (do i have to mention that too?)

Cool, got that.

Keep the reciept and be straight if anyone asks thou, to cover your back completely you must be 100% truthful on the car, show all damage, all rust, anywhere that might need replacing. If you tell a little white lie here and there the buyer has every right to bitchslap you through ebay.

Got that! :)

One of mine...

A previous auction. Got more watchers this time around, 154 and plenty of hits.

Saves everyone asking you dumb questions, mind......although I did go too over the top this time. Still refining it - less text next time and an improved layout.

I just wanna say a quick thank you to all those who have helped me out in this thread and has given a good advice....Thanks.

The fto has been listed now and can be found HERE

:)

My suggestion to revise the text. When you refer to yourself in the first person as 'I' you must always capitalise the letter

Remove the first line from the advert. There's no need for it.

Revised Advert said:
I imported this car myself from Japan earlier this year. It is a very clean example.

The car has been tastefully modified, namely:

- HID headlights
- Leather interior
- Lowered on Apex Springs

The engine has been untouched, developing almost 200bhp. For more information please see the owners club (http://www.ftooc.org/?section=engines) of which I am an active member.

The car has only covered 44,000 miles from new - this is an exceptionally low mileage example.

The cars specification includes:

- 17 inch chrome-like alloys with new low profile tyres
- Lowered on Apex springs
- Leather interior (cream and black)
- Category 1 Sigma S30 alarm (with full enclosure option)
- 6 months tax and 1 year MOT
- Central Locking
- Power steering
- Climate control
- Rear window demister
- Trip computer
- Triptronic gearbox
- Electric folding mirrors
- Electric adjustable mirrors
- Electric windows
- adjustable steering column
- CD/MP3 player with remote control
- HID Headlamps

The car has been regularly serviced throughout its life and comes with a service history. The car has had a full service only two weeks ago.

All receipts, documentation and import papers are available with the car.

The car will come with a speed camera GPS alert system worth £150 preinstalled.

The car will adapt to your individual driving style. For more information look at the page on Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mitsubishi_FTO

The lock on the driver's side of the car has been damaged by a failed break-in attempt. You can still lock the car using the remote key fob included.

This is a reluctant sale - a recent addition to the family has forced the purchase of a new car.

A £200 deposit is required within 48 hours of the end of the auction. The rest of the payment will be required in full on collection.

I reserve the right to withdraw this auction at any time as it is advertised elsewhere.

Please contact me through E-Bay or on 07908 719 192 if you have any questions.

Please note that you are bidding to buy the car, not to look at it. Viewing is advised before the auction ends.

Hey thanks but am not sure if it is too late now.

Another question guys, i have the reserve price for 3000pounds even though am asking for 3700. I found that i cant change the reserve price what will happen if the bids get to 3000pounds (about a couple of hundreds away)? I dont want take the listing off as the momentum is set and going now.

Also, i had a guy who sounds english phone me today and has offered to buy the car but he says he lives in france and here. He has offered to pay cash but should i be weary?

if he pays by cash, then thats fine - but make sure he wins the auction and don't sell it outside ebay

because you are not protected by the ebay schemes, you could get scammed and it would be tough.

if he wants it, he can bid for it.
