help with exposure on D50

could some one please tell me how i can adjust the exposure compensation on my D50 when you are in manual mode as i can't suss it out.

thats how it works for most modes but in manual that button is used for the apeture ! I had a quick look but couldn't see, not got my manual handy either

that is correct for the D50 which is why i can't find out how to change it
