I recently bought a E8400 from MM, and i dont get paid until Friday lol, and i will need a motherboard and RAM to make my transfer to C2D complete :D I can barely wait.

Anyway I have spent the last week looking at various motherboards, not so much at the RAM though as i pretty much decided on that straight away. For the RAM i decided on the Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2GB... its the lights that sold it to me as im used to Corsair XMS pro shining back at me every time i look in my case, that plus the speed of this RAM.

Then Mobo, well I think i have pretty much decided that X38 is not really needed, it doesn't seem to offer much for the price increase, so that left P35 of which most offer things i don't need, and doubt i ever will. So I think i have finalized on the MSI NEO2-FR. Any comments on this board? I have seen nothing but good write ups so far and have chosen this over a Abit IX38 QuadGT Intel X38 a mate has offered me for £100.

So any issues I havent noticed, is it all compatible and be able to OC ok? Which mobo would you go for and why?

One last thing, most boards need an 8pin power to the mobo aswell now, but i bought a OCZ 700W GamerXtream about six months ago, which has only two four pin connectors... please tell me I havent got to get a new PSU lol

Thanks for any advice guys... I always trust the OcUKers opinions :)

Thanks, i thought that was the case but always best to check eh!

So any opinions on my choices peeps? I would rather know now than after i purchase.

Also i'm running ThermalTake BigWater 735 as my W/C of choice :o well not so much choice but budget at the time, now i'm looking to improve it bit by bit, my first thought was the EK Supreme waterblock... would this give me a significant improvement do you think? i know that rad and pump will limit performance but the waterblock i currently have i dont really rate at all.
