Help with First Boot

Built my first computer last night and SURPRISE! it doesn't work!

I've gone through with the manuals and double checked all connections and still a bit lost. When I turn on the computer all the fans turn on but the Lights on the front of the pc do not, and the monitor doesn't come out of energy save mode.

I tried this with the onboard VGA output on the MOBO without the GPU installed and via the GPU using the DVI to VGA adapter (using temp screen during setup). The light on the MOBO is on when I connect the power to the system. also there is no system speaker so I cannot pickup on any error beeps.

any ideas?

we have all faced this problem at one point

firstly i would try taking everything back to absolute basics

GPU CPU 1 stick of ram

see what happens then (if it doesn't work post pics)

Check you have the CPU power connected and also try booting with one stick of RAM at a time as Yakyb said.

cool, bit more relaxed knowing its happened to others! Ill have a look tonight and see take pics as I go.

Sorry for the cufufle! i had forgotten the second power cable that connects to the MOBO

all up and running now, I also had the LED the wrong way around although i still say the manual has it the incorrect way round!

all up and running, just working through installing the basics to then create a restore point now.
