Hi folks, Im building my very first gaming pc.. transitioning from Macbook after idk how many years. I play most games on PS5 but play others in my computer (like mostly League of Legends, but also some other not that heavy games on steam). I am a programmer (web developer) but usually dont program on my own computer but maybe want to do so...

Here is the build I made after a research... its a bit over my budget (I didn't want to spend more than U$1k ), but thats the best I could do (I chose this thinking in the future, dont want to replace things quickly).

I do want pieces with RGB colours and they need to be in synch, thats why I chose most of the Corsair RBG stuff. I live in Australia, so the prices are a bit different here, but mostly buying from ***NO COMPETITOR MENTIONING PLEASE***, or from another online retailer here).

I already checked for compatibility and seems fine!

Some other questions:

1) In regards to the CPU.. When looking for i7 model12700KF, on ***NO COMPETITOR MENTIONING PLEASE*** , I saw that there are several options and price varies so much... as long as i get the i7 17000KF, they are all the same, right? the difference is only the seller (for this model, I know there are 12700K and 12700F, but im talking about 12700KF) ? (example: compare the one above with this one from Australia (where I live):, are they the same?)

2) The case I loved had 4 other fans, do i really need all of them? i dont want it to be too noisy, so I thought this was the solution? (plus, I am planning on getting the Corsair iCue H100i cooler, as mentioned above, so it will be 7 coolers in total, lol).

Thank you!

Regards,
Junior

For the £ cost (converting AUD to GBP) it is a decent build, you couldn't buy those parts for that money here, not even close.

I don't have this case, but from the description, I would assume that they respond to temperature and don't just run at full-pelt permanently. Do you NEED 4? No, but since they're included it doesn't matter.

Check the product codes, OEM CPUs usually have a CM code (CM8071504553829 for this CPU, I believe), while retail boxed CPUs have a BX code (BX8071512700KF). OEM CPUs have no direct warranty with Intel and must be returned with the retailer (typically for only 1 year) whereas BX CPUs have a 3 year warranty that you can use direct with Intel, assuming you're buying from an authorised store and not some random marketplace/grey import seller.

regards case...that'll be 6 fans..the 4000 series can take 3 in front, 2 at top and one at rear if I'm not mistaken. it's a grwat case and well made, I have the 5000 series with is bigger, with QL fans in it also
I'd look at price the case is with the ql fans. it might be cheaper getting the standard 4000d airflow which is on offer and then just buying the ql fans seperately...also on corsair page with the 240 aio on the top, remember they are using ql fans there also..you wont get that look with a normal H100i aio..I bought the h150i xt something or other (360mm verion for my case) and ended up buyng 3 more ql120's to replace the fans that came with the aio to complete the look...gets expensive...so if you do same thing better get 400d and 2 triple packs of ql120's if that's the look you're going for.

Also consider..the case comes with a rgb lighting node for plugging in the rgb from each fan(max 6 fans) buyt no pwn node for the power for each fan, so you'll have to use the connectors on the mobo..if you don't have enough it'll incolve splitters or getting something like a commander core( which is what I did in end as had 9 fans)...again all adds up in price

whatever you do, it'll look nice, just saying be careful as price can escalate quickly...if replacing fans to get look maybe worth going the icue link fans as they come on the aio as well, so you def don't need to swap those out, offsetting their higher price somewhat..and a lot less wires...something to consider if a 1st build

Below is vid with the 4000d airflow with the qx120 icue link fans....i cable to link, no need for commander cores etc... from fron you still get same look with the outer ring that the ql120 fans give...and their on offer on ocuk at mo meaning ends up being same price as the ql120 and the capellix aio(which aren't the same fans as the ql's)...remember the qx fans have rgb on side also(as seen in vid below), each fan has it's own temp sensor on it also..easier to set up and more advanced

so below they come out same price, £275 for the link fans and £277.99. if you want to get all 6 fans, then you'll need to add one more QX at £42(ouch) and then you have 6 matching fans....if you want 6 matching ql120's you'll have to buy another triple pack to account for swapping out the 2 fans on the aio, so an additional £124...then you may need a commander core, or not, but that'll be £40

Ql120's are just too expensive now..when i bought mine i got them for £75ish av for 3 packs...£124???? way too much...then you'll need a commander core(maybe) which will set you back £40 more...so ql120 route gets expensive fast(and the qx aren't exactly cheap, but a lot cheaper overall)

the 4000d airflow on offer for £78 atm....the ql edition is £200(comes with 4 ql fans, but you'll still need 2 to match them all, and £40 each...so £433 for case, aio and 6 matching ql fans plus maybe £40 for controller...or £393 for 6qx fans, case and aio..., so £40 less, less wires and no need for comander core..tough one....

I'd save some cash and go better gpu ...for starters, the 7600 is 28% faster(hardware unboxed 15 game av) than the 6600..factor in you get pandora game which you can sell, the gpu is only about 10% more expensive then
How much programming do you do? am5 cpu use less energy, and can get away with a cheaper air cooler....that and a case like the 4000x for 3125 so still looks good and an air cooler will cve you a packet, getting you up into 7800Xt gpu territory just about, or at least 7700xt

My basket at OcUK:
