Apologies for yet another thread asking for help on a PC build. This is my first build and, due to being quite short on funds, it'd be great if I didn't make too many mistakes or waste too much money. This funding squeeze does add a slight curve ball into this build.

I'm currently using a laptop which is on it's way out, something the recent warm whether hasn't helped. This has backed me into a corner that, since I can't risk having no computer, I have to buy a new one before I'm financially ready. To solve this what I am aiming to do is build a stop-gap desktop which is both short term upgradeable (over the next few months) into a reasonable dual monitor CAD/CAE and gaming machine, and long term upgradable to be somewhat future proof over the next few years.

My current plan is to start with the below (rough prices)
CPU - i5-3570k (£160)
Motherboard - Asus p8z77-v lx (£85)
HD - Samsung 840 series 120gb (£85)
RAM - 2x4gb Corsaire Vengance 1600mhz (£55)
case - xigmatic asgard pro (£33)
PSU - Corsaire builder series modular 500W cxm (£50)

Then, over the next few months or so buy
Graphics card - something like Radeon hd 7770 or better (100-200 range)
HD2 - 2/3TB Sata drive
CPU cooler to enable overclock

Finally, It would be great if this system is somewhat future proof. Specifically I can see it being upgraded to an i7-3770K or better and possibly doubling up the graphics card and adding a sound card.

Please can you tell me if the initial build looks ok for my purposes or if there is anything you would change. I am especially unsure if the motherboard is suitable or if I higher spec model (V pro??) would be better/necessary for future upgrades. Additionally I am not sure if the ram is sufficient spec or is likely to be a bottleneck.

Apologies for the long post and thanks for your help
