Hi my screen went faulty on my Toshiba L500-1DT any way bought a new screen from a rainforest seller who said its compatible. The old screen was LCD I think but the new one was Matte

I have took the old screen off and instantly noticed that the main ribbon cable end is to large for the connector on the new screen

Also my old screen has this coming off the bottom of it (red/black cable) and the new one doesnt have it

Is this possible to fit or has the seller got it wrong?

I wouldnt mind but the title of the listing was "NEW 15.6" LED Toshiba Satellite L500-1DT SCREEN MATTE"

Turns out its the wrong screen!!

Seller told me it was 100% compatible!! advertised it as compatible, emails me back saying "I have ordered" the wrong screen and to pay for returning it! O! and the new correct screen is £145 lol!

I repair laptops and from my long experiance its best to never EVER order a screen going only on the model number of the laptop. Always remove the screen and use the model numbers from the screen itself to source a replacement.

I fix 3-4 laptop screens a week, and for screens I'd only ever buy genuine after numerous mistakes, but they're expensive. I have 2 L500 series laptops here, one has a LED screen the other a LCD screen, and the connectors are different. I've found screens for them for around £50 on the bay, and they seem to be quite decent. OEM screens I've found for about £130ish after shopping around.
