Help Looking for new Fiesta CD Player - MK5

I've just bought a 51 reg fiesta with a factory fitted tape player/radio and was wondering how i would go about changing it for a cd player.

I've heard there are mounting kits avaliable to put normal radios into the space without leaving a gap but i was wondering how this would look.

Also i was thinking if the standard ford radios are decent then which would be the best that would fit my fiesta properly.

just incase you need to know the exact model is a Ford Fiesta Fun 1.3.

Thx in advance.

is 51 mk6? ukfiestanetwork.com gives detailed instuructions.

Im telling you now if its a mk6 the dashboard is very annoying to remove.

I've got a mk5 Fiesta.
All you need to do is buy a Fascia adaptor.
This adaptor makes the 1.5 Din slot into a 1 Din slot so you can put in an aftermarket headunit.
You can buy this from Halfords, Autoleads etc. (it's about £20) or direct from Ford which is cheaper and supposidly better made.
However, im not sure whether the ones from Ford are sprayed the right colour or not, im pretty sure the ones from Halfords or Autoleads are already the same colour as the dashboard.
You then need to buy an ISO adaptor. This allows you to connect the new headunit straight into the previous Ford wiring.
Your new headunit will then have a connector block that goes at the other end of the ISO.
It's simple stuff, anyone can do it and there is no wiring needed at all, just connecting a few connectors up.

About a new headunit.... go for Alpine. They have a selection of headunits that come with an iPod adator that allow you to browse the iPod from the headunit.
If you dont have much money to spend on a headunit go for one that has aux in.
