Hi,

I got an Acer x3960 very cheap from work which is great and I use it connected to my main TV as like a media centre pc. I've been hankering after a freesat hd box but don't really want another big box under my tv so thought about a card for the Acer but I've no idea whether one will fit? (Or anything else about them infact!)

As far as I know it has a PCIe x1 slot and a PCIe x16 slot free so I don't think something like the Compro S350 would fit would it? Other than that the Compro S350 is perfect specs wise and price wise so any other suggestions would be good thanks.

Just to let you know I've after Sat cards as my aerial and general TV reception isn't that great.

Cheers

Not sure on the FreeSAT HD side but if you're after HD channels, they usually require a DVB-S2 card.

IIRC, the Compro S350 is DVB-S?

Sorry yes didn't mean actual freesat, just free to air hd channels via satellite.

what's the difference between dvb-s and s2? Also its the question of will it fit too.

Thanks
