Came across £80 worth of HMV vouchers today, which was nice. Enough to buy two games! :D

So... what games are they for me to get my grubby paws on?

List of current games = COD4, PES2008, Bioshock, Stranglehold, (amongst a fair few older titles)

Been looking at Kane and Lynch, but come ot the conclusion that it's more of a rental I reckon. So what do you lot recommend?

Guitar Hero 3 + another game and make the difference? Eternal Sonata + Mass effect?

I love the way people "come across" things. Did you find them in the street? Under 3 months worth of old laundry? Behind the back of the sofa? Hehehehe.

Company sent them to me as a bonus for the year I've been with them.

So instead of spending them on the girlfriend and presents for her, I've decided to treat my self! :D

Assassin's Creed.

Despite the poor reviews this is one of the best games I've ever played. Atmospheric, gorgeous graphics and animation, interesting story; just superb, easily a 9/10.

I thought Eternal Sonata was a bit poor (looks great but fighting becomes repetetive and is a bit of a chore). Blue Dragon is much much better if you want a jrpg.

If you fancy a drive get PGR4, a must have.

(Could also consider a couple of oldies: Crackdown, Condemned, Kameo, Test Drive Unlimited, Burnout: Revenge are all great)

PGR4 worth it? I have PGR3 and found it realy boring. What's it like online?

Guitar Hero 2 was good, borrowed it from a friend, but not sure on Guitar Hero 3.

orange box, how good is this online too? I used to play a lot of TFC e.t.c, but HL2 bored me and never lived up to it's hype!

is Mass Effect that good?

keep the suggestions coming please. :)

I'm really not sure about Assassins creed, I think it will be more of a rental, as I've heard it's very repatative and think it would just get boring very quickly! Thanks for the suggestions please keep them up! :)

I thought the same but when I traded a few games in a week ago they gave me more than I expected so I quickly said, err, Assassin's Creed and I can't put it down. Mass Effect is sat on my shelf waiting to get a look in.

C'mon, someone else back me up!

If you did not like PGR3 then its doubtful 4 will change your mind, although it is better it's the same game at heart. Assassins Creed I found as exciting as watching paint dry, starts off fine but the time your doing the same thing for the 3rd time and know the rest of the game is going to be the same it kind of loses all appeal.

Yea that was my worry in regards to Assassins Creed. Think it will be a rental from lovefilm personally.

Any other suggestions? What about games I should keep clear off and not touch with a 20ft barge pole?

Dont buy anything that can be had for silly money elsewhere. You may as well use your vouchers for near full price games. So COD would be a good starting point. No use wasting vouchers on say PES which is now 19.99. Or PGR4 which can be had from asia for £20. Spend the money on cod 4 and then wait for another decent full priced game.

assassins creed IS repetitive, but i still enjoy (and am about half way through). Its a satisyinmg repition, imho, because it means i dont really have to think - just enjoy the environment and fights/free running

HALO 3 not been mentioned?

Though they are normally very high priced compared to online retailers for games they are the cheapest place you can buy GH3 from atm £59.95 so if you decide to go for that its a good deal, parents got mine yesterday stuck away for christmas now :)

Oh yes and on the subject of Assassins Creed I'm up to the 8th mission atm and am still loving it, its taking me a while because I've done every objective on each of the assasinations.

Get Assassin's creed as been said it can be repetitive but my god its good. Storyline is a bit iffy at the start however it is a cracking game easily 9/10 for me.

Mass Effect
Bioshock

those would be my choices. Bioshock wont take you that long, but Mass Effect will. Bioshock is an outstanding game and deserves to be played.

In my opinion id stay clear of PES2008 (get FIFA08 if you want the best football game) and also Halo 3 is pretty woefull.

It also has to be said that I am enjoying PGR4 a lot more than PGR3
