I have tried and tried but cannot seem to get more than 2.7Ghz out of this chip. Can anyone offer some suggestions to try?

This was one of the first 3800's out there i think and doesn't seem to clock all too well without a lot of volts. Currently this is how things are:

I have tried putting the volts up stupidly high and it just blue screens after about a minutes worth of orthos. Is this the chips limit or is it me missing something?

Any help would be great :)

Its on water i wouldn't touch the volts im using just now on air. Its a cpu only loop with a Fuzion and a XSPC 360 Radiator. Thanks for the link will take a look around.

It took my a lot to get 3.2ghz out of my old X2 3800, 2.8 was a lot back then.

Just look at the voltage:

I've seen ppl with 2.9/3.0 on water so you there's hope for you yet! :D

Is it possible its due to something else such as the north bridge? I have also noticed the Mosfets getting very hot, had to cable tie a fan in place for them :p (Its a DFi SLi-D board). Will try in the morning with using 1.75v see how that gets on.

Weescott What did you have your ram divider set to for 3.2Ghz? also what kind of cooling were you using?

I was using an unmodded Mach2GT...it didn't like those clocks so it must have been putting out over 200w of heat. Dfi Ultra D. It was the limit of the board, not the chip.

Hyper X PC3500, forget the timings. Destroyed the board after that.
