Help with gigabyte z87x-oc

anyway you could borrow another psu to try?

it should be free far as im aware, only if not fault found they charge you, they should email you a freepost label you print off

or take board to local pc place and ask them to try different psu for you

I've tried two power supply's, three sets of ram and two Cpus now. I'm pretty sure it's the board. It's just strange though it seems as though it's on, like everything's spinning blah but no error codes on the display or anything. Probably shouldn't have bought from the clearance lines, learning my lesson now.

I have two options from gigabyte, one is a £15 handling fee so they collect etc and my second option (most popular it says on the email) is to arrange my own courier for collection and pick up....

So I've got to shell out almost 1/4 of the boards worth just to get it checked out.

That's ocuk, I've submitted an Rma request now but will be same old, I don't really have any money to be paying to return items that should work the first time. I know it's clearance lines but surely somebody checked it.

From what I've just read on the Gigabyte website that Ignition button just powers up the rest of the system but not the CPU, so although it all comes to life it's without the CPU and will not even get as far as POST.

You seem to have exhausted everything in terms of replacing other components so the most likely culprit is a faulty motherboard.

edit: The only other thing I would perhaps try is check the DIP switches etc ("OC PCIe Switch" according to website disables the PCI-E slots - I'm not sure what effect disabling all of the slots might have on the CPU's ability to work).
