Hi, recently got a system together for vid editing using 64 bit powerproducer and it works very nice indeed but i have a video bottle neck and im guessing it's the memory bandwidth of the cheapo GPU

Specs.
MB: ASROCK M3A770DE
CPU: X4 core 955 Phenom 3.6 gig (not sure about clock speed)
RAM: 8 GIG Corsair DDR3
PSU: 700 watt OCZ
GPU: Some random name Nvidia GT220 card !

Watching the CPU usage when the bottle neck is happening the CPU is not really working hard at all, 25% ish.

Windows 7 64 bit scores 7.6 CPU and system memory bandwidth but reports the card drags the score down to 3.9

Tried to probe the card with SIsoft sandra and it usually crashes!
So if anythinks i am correct or has other ideas then im open to suggestions. Im quite interested in getting one of these as has a lot of good reviews.

Thanks.

Tony.

Ok thanks, the current card has CUDA clicked and working but im un-sure how important it is? far as i can see it's only used for a few effects but i could easily be wrong.

Maybe better to have asked best card for video editing with CUDA.

Happy to go with a NVIDIA though, always have.

Thanks.

Ok this is just out of my price range but i wont feed the dog for 2 weeks to compensate!

Good reviews on the quiet fans which i really need as a lot of the time im just strutting through vids in relative silence (fan on the cooler needs replacing after 3 weeks) !

Any thoughts? Sorry to appear lazy but i trust you OCErs much more than my limited knowledge.

That looks good to me and the dog is pleased too !

I have this really big passive vga cooler on this one so ill prob fit that to the new card which im just popping over to order now.

Im concerned about having air flow over the GPU mem chips if i take the fan off? would that be an issuse?

Well that has brought a big smile to my face !

7.1 on windows experience making my hdd the slowest thing connected. Fans are quieter than my cooler fan running slow! and the video scrubbing flys along now.

Appreciate the help stulid, thanks a ton

Excellent service Ocers and thanks to the DPD man who tried loads of doors to deliver when my usual personal post office was out.

What a lovely peice of hardware, shame its up side down.

ETA nice freebie with the giant mouse mat.
