I've got a major problem with the sound on GTA:SA. When in the game I can't hear the noise my character makes when speaking, I can't hear the noise of the enginge on my car but can hear the noises of other cars' enginge and I also can't hear ambient noises such as weather.

This problem occured randomly whilst playing multi theft auto and no matter what I do nothing seems to work. I've uninstalled GTA and MTA, deleted all files for both of them, cleaned the registry and then reinstalled to no success. I've also played around with the settings andmy soundcard and that doesn't seem to work either.

Any suggestions?

This happens to me also, like when an explosion goes off, all my sound will go off, very odd.

But this happens to me also.

I've had the 'loss of sound problem until I restart the game' for ages, that's a known problem for a lot of people.

This one is worse :(. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, reformatted but none of it seems to work.

you lot running NF4 based motherboards via the onboard sound? if youre using the nvidia drivers then change them to the realtek ones if theyre supported for you device. there is soo many problems with soundcards/drivers withthis game its untrue. but i switched from nvidia drivers to realtek ones and a lot of the problems went away. i still get the occasionaly glitch though but its nothing i cant live with

I'm using on board sound.

I thought this was my problem, I thought i needed to get a proper sound card.

But it doesnt bother me that much lol, i only play MTA any way :p
