Hi guys,

I use a panasonic home cinema system which I use on aux for my pc (through the digital in function).

Only when I use it I can only get sound out of the front two speakers, as opposed to all 6 inc sub.

Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

I run an Asus AN8 SLi on windows pro and as far as I know my sound drivers are up to date (although I will check).

You will only get stereo sound out through optical unless you're running the amp a dolby digital or dts signal. The only way to achieve surround sound otherwise is to use analogue connections.

Either you need to look at changing your soundcard to something which gives a DD signal permanently, or you need to get some analogue cables.

Some applications will take control of the digital out such as Power-Dvd. For these you can get 5.1/7.1 DD/DTS (depending on the version of the software) :) but for games and stuff only 2.1. Not the best, but it works ok.
