Hey all

A friend and I are planning on setting up a business and we want to get a basic web site set up as well. I don't have a clue about web hosting or domain names though, so I'll need a bit of advice to get up and running.

What we want initially is just a very basic website saying who we are, and a few email address that are the same as the domain name - eg, if we register www.company.ie the emails should be [email protected].

I've looked at a few domain name registration and hosting sites, but I'm not sure what kind of hosting package we should go for. Firstly are there any advantages to registering a domain and having your hosting with the same company, or should I just go for whatever companies give the best deals separately? Secondly, would pretty much any hosting package meet our needs for the moment? In the future we're thinking of getting dreamweaver and setting up a proper website, so we don't really want a package that's too limited in terms of traffic or web space.

We want a .ie site, so we were looking at the following sites:
http://www.letshost.ie/
http://www.register365.com/
http://hosting.digiweb.ie/
http://www.alwaysamber.ie/index.php
http://www.iccmhosting.com/index.php
http://www.switchmedia.ie/
http://www.blacknight.ie/
http://new.hostireland.com/index.htm
http://www.hostingireland.ie/
http://www.darklite.ie/index.html

Sorry for the basic questions but I did a bit of searching and couldn't find anything explaining exactly what I needed.

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a look at the hosting sticky and see what I can find.

Just with regards to the email, when a package says it includes 10 email addresses or whatever, can you choose these to be anything you want?
