Hi everyone, new here so go easy!

I just bought the HP LP2275W and am running it from my sony laptop. It's all going great although i am noticing some banding issues in the grey and black areas of the screen. Currently I am runninng the screen from the vga port in my laptop to the dvi input on the screen. My laptop has the facility for HDMI so i could run HDMI to dvi, would this help the situation?

I have used the test on this website http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/clock_phase.php

Whilst, if i press the auto set up for clock/phase on my screen it seems to fix the problem momentarily, it soons seems to drift back into not being very good! Can i solve this with the hdmi, or is it a problem with the graphics card (which probably isn't very good) or is this just how this screen is?! (I have an old sony flatscreen from about 7 years ago that doesn't have this problem!!)

When i say banding, i probably don't mean banding, but it appears like 3mm wide lines that seem to flicker slightly......sorry it's very hard to explain!!
Any advice would be great!
