I am just fed up of paying Sky money and want to replace my Sky+ box with something I can use free.

Been looking at the HTPC's in the pre build selection and I can't seem to get one under £500 that looks good. Is it unrealistic to build a good one for about £300? I have an old 32" CRT type telly and dont plan on getting a new one any time soon. I would like to use my 2 satellite channels as my normal TV reception is very poor. Mainly just want to record and play back.

Any help with a spec as cheap as possible can't spend over £300?

Thanks in advance

Then add a Hauppauge WinTv Nova-S2 for about £60. This has one tuner so you can only record one program at a time. I'm not sure if you can fit a dual tuner card into the budget.
