This is going to seem like a really stupid question.
I got my new cooler yesterday, and have noticed massive improvements.
So I clocked my i5 to a x40 multiplyer, and was getting 20 or so idle, the clock was showing 1.6Ghz- then stepping up to 4.0 and hitting about 40^0.
Still pretty nice.
So threw it to 48, and got to to hit 4.8 Ghz, at again about 20-25 idle (1.6Ghz), clocking to 4.8 and showing about 60^0 on load. Still nice. But a bit too hot for me on load.
So set it to x45. and was getting 20 something idle, about 50 or so load. Much nicer.
My problem is, I then went back to the BioS and messed around with some settings.
Now CPU-z is constantly showing 4.5 with temps always at 38-40 idle. I don't know how to revert it back to using the 1.6Ghz idle, with a faster clock as needed.
Turbo and smartstep are turned on I believe. And I'm fairly sure I'm using X.M.P.
So- how do I turn that feature back on?
I tried using the CMOS reset- well the only jumper I could find on the board w/o removing parts. And Then reset the clock, only using 45 MP and memory to 1600 not messing any other settings.
