Hiya, was just wondering if anybody could help me with my i7 930 overclock.

I'm currently at 4.2GHz and get idle temps of around 40c and temps of 80c when using intel burn test.

What's the best way to reduce my temps with the least performance loss.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ali

I'm using a corsair H50 cooler in a coolemaster centurion 2 case with 2 side fans and a front fan.

Is there a better cooler I can use with a cost at no more than £40 and not too loud also.

Thanks

Also, ambient temps are 25c so need something that can handle that.

Any other suggestions such as types of case fans to get would be appreciated, just running basic one's at the moment.

What fan/s are you using on the H50? Tbh though, 80c in IBT at 4.2ghz is fine, prime95 will run a bit lower, and nothing else will heat up your cpu as much as the stress apps do, maybe folding at home as an exception.

Just using the stock H50 fan sucking in air from outside the case. My temps do fluctuate to the mid 80's as well which is why i'm concerned.

Is there a better fan I can use with my H50.

Also just thought, I read some info on the H50 in the past that said they had two fans fitted to it in a push>pull config, would that help me and by how much.

Thanks

TBH better cooling is the answer, the H50 just can't handle the heat load at very high clocks. It is a very small (almost) sealed loop and just won't keep cooling no matter what heat you throw at it... at some point it will cave, and you are just about at the tipping point
