Tricky one today - I have been given a hard drive to try and recover some images from, but I'm having problems. I used Recuva to scan the drive and find the missing images (it initially appeared unformatted so I created a partition and did a quick format). I have tested the drive and have no reason to believe it is faulty.
Recuva found almost everything it seems, and I recovered them to another drive. However, when trying to view the majority of the images, I can't. They are .jpg images from a camera. I have used a Hex editor to take a look at the files, but there seems to be no header, which could explain why they won't open with anything I've tried.
Should Recuva be able to detect the file header on jpg images that have been 'deleted'?
Now I have the files, is there anything I can do to recover them?
Any help appreciated!
