Hello,
Just been given a Packard Bell system that was running Windows ME and keeps on crashing at ramdom points with blue screens.
They want it to be upgraded to Windows XP Pro.
I ran the Windows XP Pro disk (inc SP2) formatted the hard drive to NTFS, it copied them files over straight after format.
When it restarted to lauch the XP install program where u can use the mouse etc i get a blue screen when its surposed to load of HDD error message "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL"
Restart still get same error.
Load BIOS fail safe and still get same result.
I have just started the install again booted off WinXP disk and its formatting and at 4% theres a scrathing sound coming from inside that keeps looping.
Its now carried on formatting and is working fine upto 55% at the moment.
Doubt its going to work and i am gonna end up with same error.
Any ideas ?
Thanks Ben
