Hi, bit of a long shot, not sure if anyone will be able to help me.

I remember a good few years back i would always use the latest SATA or matrix / RST drivers and would always update them regularly, I’m pretty sure i have had newer drivers on my laptop in the past than what i have now, i cannot find any though, every time i try to install any of the above they always say not supported on my laptop, the drivers that are currently installed are:

Driver Version: 11.0.0.1032

Date: 29.11.2011

They are very old and would like to be able to use any newer ones that would benefit me, the rest of my laptop is up to date, just not that.

Even when i run Intel software update utility it finds nothing new for it.

My laptop is Lenovo Edge E530.

I am running windows 10 64 Bit Pro

If anyone can help at all that would be great.

Regards

James

To be honest if its working don't mess with it you wont gain anything from newer drivers if its working fine now.

but if you really must ...I don't think the latest version actually supports the older chipsets despite saying so .....I have a series 7 SATA chip and the latest driver I could find that supported it was 12.8.0.1016

This is at your own risk.

You'd be better off with an actual driver as what you have as a driver is most likely storahci.sys which is the generic microsoft driver.

Also, what I did when it come to driver updates like this all I did was select the update driver option and set it up to look through the folder where all the files were extracted to, and if it does find something and installs it then let it ride as anything is going to be better then that generic piece of garbage that MS calls a driver.
