Help with iPad - Daughter Xmas present (5)

Hi.

Wonder if someone can shed some help on the following.

Me and partner both have Samsung phones (I used to have iPhones)

We have got a ipad for our daughter for Christmas who is 5. Just as a game tablet.

What is the best way to set it up.
If I use my old apple ID. I would think it may sync my past photos etc?

Are we better just setting up as completely new?

Set up fresh with brand new Apple ID as your old one might still be paired with a payment method.

YouTube is full of helpful videos on how to do this to give your kid a secure and safe iPad.

Set up her own account then set up Family Sharing.

That way you can control the account yourself.

Are we better just setting up as completely new?

Yes, create a new Apple ID for her, this will save a lot of hassle later as she grows up and wants her own account, apps, photos, etc...

Our son has had an iPad since he was about 2 (2013) and we initially set it up off my ID, which created some hassle further down the line when he wanted his own stuff. Granted it's slightly better now Apple has Family Sharing.
