Help with iPhone synching

I have recently updated my PC to windows 7, but now when I try to synch any new music it says it's not possible and suggests erasing everything on there already.

Its impossible to access the old itunes now, anyone got any helpful suggestions?

I would be really interested to see what people suggest also as I've often wondered about this.
