Hi,

My sister has b0rked her laptop with some naff software. It won't boot to last known good or safe mode (fails at last stages of bootup not /fixboot or /fixmbr)

So I'm left with using BArtPE and a memory stick to drag her data off and rebuild it. She's bought quite a lot of stuff off iTunes and I was wondering how to backup her downloaded music, video and playlists?

Many thanks in advanced

The iTunes Store-bought songs/tv shows/movies will be tied to her iTunes account, so if you manually re-add the files to a new iTunes library, it will ask for the new computer to be re-authorised. This is as simple as signing into her iTunes account.

If you can, try to copy off the iTunes library files (.xml) and maintain the same folder hierachy for storing music. With luck, you'll be able to retain playlists, star ratings, play counts etc
