Help with laptop CPU upgrade please

Ok, so I just bought my first laptop, ever ! It's a Compaq CQ56 with 4 gb ddr2 RAM and an AMD V140 @ 2.3ghz.

I managed to get it off an auction site for 120 squids but being the eternal tinkerer I am I'm looking to upgrade the CPU to a dual core (I'm told this is possible)

What are my options for a decent CPU ?

I was thinking a Phenom II n620

Will it go in ok and be recognised by the bios or could I run into any compatibility problems with RAM ?

Any advice would be great

The V140 is reported to support DDR3 only. Are you sure it's DDR2 ram?

Hmm, thats what the specs said. Ill be taking delivery of it in the next day or so so will get CPUID on it and check.
