Hi,

My laptop has a bit of a problem/.

Was watching a movie on the train not too long ago and then pc froze. Now my screen is all pixelated. I have a feeling that the graphics has gone because laptop was overheating.

Its a quite an old laptop so its possible

Heres a pic to show you what it looks like

hope someone can fill me in with the problem and whether it can be fixed

Looks like your GPU has developed some faults there. Not sure there's much you can do once you get display issues like that.

I think it's something to do with the RAM the GPU uses, or it's interface.

I think tealc is right, you can try hooking it up to a monitor or a lcd tv if it has the appropriate connectors but i think the gpu has had it.

Laptop was bought over 3/4 years ago. On monitor hooked up, it looks the same! So no way to get it fixed bar warranty? Time for new laptop then! Thanks for the feedback guys

Not necessarily, if its the nvidia gpu that was known to be defective from manufacture you could use sales of goods act to get it repaired, but would have to go back to the point of sale with some decent research to back up the fault.
