Help with Linpus on AcerAspire1 Netbook

Hello folks,
Now I really don't know where to start here as it's my mum's netbook and she's somehow managed to mess up the taskbar and the wireless network connection. I have no idea about linux and what not, but just wondered if any of you Linux experts out there had any suggestions of what to try.

I've had a blast at googling for answers but nothing has worked so far.

Would it be best to try reinstalling the OS, or is there anything else that I could tweak about with to get it working again?

Edit: I've got a blank taskbar back up at the bottom, but it's only a grey strip with a sun/star in the left corner

Ive managed to sort the taskbar, Jesus who the frig uses Linpus :/ Pain in the bum

Uhm, i'm stuck still with the network connection and when i click stuff nothing opens

Ive already downloaded Ubuntu lol! I might try dig out a big enough usb stick and just forget trying to fix it and put it on it instead.
Is it easy to do?

Hmmmm well as long as she can go online to order her groceries and check her emails then she's happy lol

Does it matter if I get the one with Google Chrome?


And does it have something like Word, and is it compatible with printers?! Cos the Linpus one was pants for that

Oh and would it work if i put the download onto a sd card to install it, cos i've lost my usb stick

This is so helpful thanks gonna get a stick off a mate tomorrow and try it in the evening.

The meego thing had 2 versions is all, one said with chrome so i wondered what the one without chrome had lol.

I'm a dipstick, I have a feeling I'm gonna wreck
It and have to buy her a new one lol
