hi all
I sent overclockers an email to ask if the Samsung SM961 SSD would work with an asus hero six Maximus motherboard. They sent me an email back saying that it would need an M2 adapter such as https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aqua...er-for-m.2-ngff-pcie-ssd-m-key-cc-001-aq.html

I have tried it in every slot that I can and it just will not work. I have pulled up a PDF of the motherboard and I don't seem to be able to have a slot which will work with this adapter. Am I missing something here?? any help would be greatly appreciated

I am not using it as a boot drive. When I get into windows it does not show the m2 drive. ATM I have it plugged into the pci slot under my GPs. I have tried a few of the boot bios settings and as yet it will not show in windows .fonally got windows to see it . Still can't use it as a boot drive even though I have updated my motherboards bios

Go into the BIOS and find a setting called CSM, set it to DISABLED. Windows 10 would not install or boot from a pci-e drive until i disabled CSM in the BIOS on my Z97 PC.

Tried this as well. When it boots up it says the current bios setting does not fully support the boot device. press f1 to enter bios setup and then under that is tells me to enable csm.As far as I can tell 1603 is the most current bios for my hero 6.

You may need to reinstall windows to take advantage of disabling the csm.

After installing a fresh windows 10 on the m2 drive using the 10 usb install program it still will not show the drive in my bios so I cant use it for booting up. If i turn cms off it just shows teh error message again. I think I am going to admit defeat and just use it as a gameing drive instead of the boot :(
