got this question...

y = root(3x-1) + 4/root(3x-1)

show that
dy/dx = 9x - 15 / 2(3x - 1) ^ 3/2

So far I have differentiated it to:

dy/dx = 1.5(3x - 1) ^ -1/2 + -6(3x - 1) ^ -3/2

dy/dx = 3 / 2(3x - 1) ^ 1/2 + -6 / (3x - 1) ^ 3/2

Here you go

You've done the work really, just multiply the top and bottom of the first part of your answer by 3x-1 and the top and bottom of the second part by 2. This gets the common denominator and the required answer. Also you made a typo with the minus sign before the 3/2 power on the last line. Shouldn't be there.

haha! :)

thanks.
