help with memory OC 4-3-3-8-16-T2

Hi Guys,

If possible I would like some advise on memory settings.

I built my new rig last week and at the moment it is set-up like this:-
Mobo P5N-E SLI
E6600
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC

425x8 = 3400MHz
4-4-4-12-24-T2
Orthos stable
Idle temps
Core 1 23c
Core 2 24c
load temps around 47c

VCore voltage = 1.4
VCore Offset Voltage = +100mV
Memory Voltage = 2.085
NB Core Voltage = 1.563

I am very happy with that but I am confused over memory settings.
I can get the memory to 4-3-3-8-16-T2 and still be Orthos stable but I am not sure if by running at these settings I am making the system faster or slower.

Is it the lower the numbers the better with RAM? I see in most members sigs that they run at either 4-4-4-12-T2 or 4-4-4-8-T2. Is that because that's the best setting.

I also see no one mentions bank cycle time Trc. On auto mine is at 24 at 4-4-4-8-T2 but I can get it to 16 and still be Orthos stable. Is it okay to lower that or should I leave it at 24?

Does that go for the Trc setting as well?
I see from most screen shots of other users cpu-z that Trc is greyed out. Still not sure if I should tweak that setting or not :confused:

yes the system is Orthos stable and I have left memtest86 running overnight without errors.

Trfc is set to auto in the bios so not sure how to check what it is set at?

I tried setting Trc to 11 and I blue screen going into Vista X64. I then tried 12,13,14 and it still BSOD. At 15 it did boot but just to be safe I put it back to 16 as I know I am Orthos stable at that timing.

Did a quick google on memset and found v3.0. That does not work with my 650i chipset. Not sure if v3.0 is the latest?

Many thanks ubern00b that works great even on Vista x64.

Okay here is a screen shot of all memory settings. From this my Trfc is 45. Is that good? Other than the x-x-x-x-Tx settings I am not sure what to tweak and what to leave alone :confused:
