help with memory timings

I have a new set up with the following gear

AMD 940 slight overclocked to 3.4 on stock volts using cpu multi
Asus M3A79-T Deluxe running bios .803
Corsair XMS2 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 PC2-8500C5 TwinX Dual Channel

currently the machine is only stable if I let it run at 800 mhz, any attemot to force it to 1066 results in instability and bluescreens.

I have set the volts on the mem to 2.1 and also tried 2.2 (which is what corsair recommend) and set the other setting to 5,5,5,15

Just wondered if anyone else has succefully run this memory in this mobo at 1066 or has anything else I could try to make it work.

Also is there any performace benifit running higher than 800mhz, would i notice the difference in games.

as it seems i am having the same problem with that particular ram.

can't get it stable at 1066 - 5,5,5,15

tried 2.1, 2.2 and various cpu voltages with no luck.

runs fine 5,5,5,18 @ 800
