Hi all. Im looking to upgrade my pc at some point in the future. At the moment i have a 26inch samsung tv with pc input. The pc input is a blue vga connection i believe. Some cards that iv looked at have dual dvi connections, however this would not work for me as i have a vga input and 2hdmi connections on the back of the tely.
What i would like to know is if it is possible to have a pc displaying HD. My tv can show up to 1080i, can you buy graphics cards that have a hdmi connection so i could run a lead from the gpu to the hdmi connection on the tv and it would be displayed in hd quality? iv also seen DVI-HDMI dongles. Am i thinking this would be a way around my problem- put the dongle on the dvi connection on the card and then run a hdmi lead from the dongle to my tv? Would this stil display my pc in HD on my tely.

i know thats a lot of questions but feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

I'm not sure at all but I do know the new radeons 2400/2600/2900 include the HDMI adapter for this and are great at decoding HD.

You can get a DVI to VGA adapter as well but I'm not too sure on the quality provided by doing so. I don't run my PC off a TV so my knowledge is little but let's hope this bump will alert someone with a better understanding about this to help you.

Thanks, yea iv also seen the dvi-vga connectors but im weary that changing the input and output due to these connectors may damage the graphics.
Does anyone know anything else on the issue? Is there any cards out there which have a HDMI port on the back which can be linked straight to the back of a HDMI port on a tely, or is the Dvi-vga connectors the way to go and do these harm graphics compared to a true dvi-dvi. What are my options
