Hi All

Recently i bought and built a rig (with a lot of help from you guys ofc) and really enjoyed doing it.

Soooo i decided to build, or rather try to build an older system with parts that i have collected.
So i built it installed everything ect and it boots up fine but i get a message saying
"this CPU is not supported by this model, please check CPU QVL on ASUS website"
I Did this and updated bios to the most recent but still get this message.

The system boots up but anything i try to run just seems bottle necked and sluggish (even streaming) but the system runs fine and i can navigate in windows decently. Im not expecting it to be amazing or anything im just baffled. (I installed some games it should be able to run and the frame goes from 90+ to less than 5 constanltly lol more often than not less than 5)

The problem i "think" i have is something to do with the motherboard and CPU

m2n68-am plus Mother board
amd athlon 64 x2 6400+ CPU

Any help or insight would be great and i dont mind replacing parts if i know what it is that needs replacing lol

Cheers in advance

off a review of the board

There is a maximum of 8 Gigs DDR2 1066/800/667 memory. AMD AM2+ CPUs cannot handle 1066MHZ memory or higher in dual channel mode, in order to get this speed you will either have to take out the second dimm or accept that both dimms will run at 800MHZ. This board also supports Phenom II processors but in the CPU support list we couldn't find any processor with a TDP higher than 95w, this means that models like the AMD Phenom II X4 965 (Thermal Design Power 125w or higher) are not supported !!
