a friend has a pc from a big electrical company thats playing up, the hard drive has had to be replaced hence is recovery section has been lost.

ive got him all the drivers for it except i need the sata drivers for the setup.

the mobo is a MS7046, the pc was a LS1100 philips freeline

where can i get the sata drivers from?

cheers cocker

Sorry you looking for the sata drivers. The southbridge on those motherboards is an ICH-6.

"The SouthBridge of this mainboard is Intel ICH6 which supports four serial ATA connectors SATA1SATA4. SATA1SATA4 are dual high-speed Serial ATA interface ports. Each supports 1st generation serial ATA data rates of 150 MB/s. Both connectors are fully compliant with Serial ATA 1.0 specifications. Each Serial ATA connector can connect to 1 hard disk device. Please note that the hard disk with your operating system installed should be always connected to SATA1 or SATA2. "

I think you should be able to use any ich6 driver as they should be the same.

cheers guys, thanx for the help,

in reference to that last link, should i be selecting the intel chipset drivers, as that is just a exe file once downloaded, and i dont think thats what i should be putting on the floppy

well, hes got it going in a fashion but at the start up once hes powered up his pc, he has to press delete on his keyboard for it to continue installing...........................whats that all about?
