Hi i need some help please i have a:

Packard Bell iPower G5800

Intel i7 870 @ 2.93Ghz (LGA1156)

6:00 GB DDR3 RAM (3x2GB)

ATI Radeon HD 5570

running 64bit Windows 7 HP

--- I am wanting to upgrade my Graphics and RAM. and maybe CPU as its part of the low end i7 range. But i also need a Need motherboard if i do. But i need a motherboard with 2 PCI-E slots or a good graphics card thats cheapish. I need 2x DVI and 1x HDMI at the least.

Thanks in Advance

Any reason why you want to upgrade the RAM and CPU?

The i7-870 is still a decent chip. You should also be able to get a good overclock on it with a new cooler.
For gaming it will be your graphics slowing you down.

at the moment my PC is used for mainly watching HD movies and Office and a lil gaming. My Budget is propably about £200 ish.

When in the Bios it doesnt show me options for like FSB speed or stuff like that.....

I want to get my ram to 8GB or 16GB so its a nice round number it has 4 slots 1 of which is empty.

how about a new mobo instead of ram, this should allow you to overclock that chip.
a gtx 460 1gb should do as nearly half of the budget would go to the mobo.
8gb/16gb is complete ott for watching HD movies/office/gaming.
since you have 3x2gb, just use 2x2gb and keep the other as spare.

If i had that system I would keep the motherboard/CPU/Ram and upgrade the GFX card and throw in a SSD for the OS and some key apps.
From my personal experience going to an SSD is a far more notacable upgrade to general PC use than a processor upgrade.

I'd also recommend looking at what PSU you have. If it s a cheapish thing then you will need to replace that if you want a new gfx card.

I'd be looking @
YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 460 HAWK "Super-OC" 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £134.99
1 x BeQuiet Pure Power L7 530W '80 Plus' Power Supply £44.99
Total : £191.38 (includes shipping : £9.50).

This would turn your PC into a decent gaming rig.
Then, if you can, pick up a second hand P55/H55 motherboard and a new cooler later on if you need a bit more CPU umph.
